Finding your perfect routine can be difficult, stressful, and very very time-consuming. Perfecting my routine took weeks of experimentation, but here I finally am! So, here's my step-by-step routine that helps me achieve dream curls every day!

1. Co-wash

I use Garnier Ultimate Blends Almond Crush conditioner, and use a wide-tooth comb to de-tangle whilst it's in. Then, I twist my hair up to the top of my head, and let the conditioner do its work for a few minutes while I shower my body. When I rinse it out, I squeeze out as much water as possible.

I love this comb

2. T-Shirt Dry

I wrap up my locks in a t-shirt turban, and leave for a few minutes while I dry off.

3. Activate Those Curls

I run a very minimal amount of Cantu Moisturising Curl Activator Cream through my hair. I am very cautious of how much product I use, as too much can make my hair go white!

Too much product!

4. Brush

I use my Goody brush to make sure the cream has reached all parts of my hair. This is also where I sort my parting out.

5. Finger Coiling

Next, I separate my hair into three parts, and brush each section again. Then, I pick out each individual curl and coil it around my finger. I always spend more time on my top layer and front curls, as these are more visible.

Before the coiling

After coiling! You can't see it in my face but this DOES make me very happy!

7. Shine and Define

The next product I use is Cantu Define and Shine Custard, and I use praying hands to cover my hair with a small amount. This helps to keep my curls coiled throughout the day.

8. Diffuse

After letting my hair air-dry while I do my makeup, I dry the rest using my diffuser on a high heat and low speed. I start by drying my ends while upside down and then l work my way up to my roots. Once the hair starts to feel mostly dry, I throw my head back the right way up and continue to dry.

What are your most important steps in achieving perfect curls?
