Every Curly needs their hair products... your conditioner, your low-poo, your creams, your gels, your mousses... you get the picture. But what about all the other products you need? Here's my top ten...

I picked a full hairball out of my brush just for this pic

1. Satin Pillowcase

My satin pillowcase changed my life! Unlike with a cotton pillowcase, when you toss and turn in your sleep, your locks will slide about, reducing the frizz you usually get in your sleep. I got mine online in a pack of two for only £6.98, AND it's available in lots of different colours so you can buy some to match your bedding!

2. Wide-Tooth Comb

For de-tangling your locks in the shower, the perfect product is a wide-tooth comb!

3. Satin Scrunchies

Like with the satin pillowcases, satin scrunchies slide around your hair, creating less frizz than regular bobbles. I get mine from Primark, but you can get them online, or from most other fashion and accessories shops.

4. Bleach

And not for your hair! For most Curlies, we get a lot of fallout in the shower, and as a result have to clean our plugholes way too often! I find that throwing some bleach down the plug hole, leaving for 30 mins, and then rinsing out, is great for getting rid of all the blocked up hair!

5. Travel Pots

You know it all too often. You're having a great hair day, until you head to the toilet and notice that one curl that won't stay in place. I keep little travel pots filled with my favourite products in my bag, so I can do a quick refresh no matter where I am! I got mine from Primark during holiday season, but you can get them online too!

6. Spray Bottle

My spray bottle is from the plant section in IKEA and cost me less than £1! I use this on days when I don't need to rewash my hair, but could do with a little refresh. I spray my hair down and reapply a little product.

7. T-Shirts

There are lots of uses for t-shirts when you're a Curly! You can use it as turban, to dry your hair instead of a towel, as the fibres in towels can cause frizz. T-shirts are also great for plopping, and I have a great post lined up all about it! You can reuse your old t-shirts, or stock up for a few quid from Primark!

8. Scalp Massager

As well as feeling GREAT on your head, scalp massagers are great to use when deep-conditioning, as they get all the product right into your roots. You can find these online.

9. Difffuser

Most hairdryers come with a diffuser attachment, but do be careful as some don't! Diffusers are perfect for curly hair as they spread out the air, stopping your hair from blowing about a lot.

10. Styling Brush

Styling brushes aren't great for de-tangling, which is why you need both a styling brush and a wide-tooth comb. Most Curlies use the famous Denman brush, however, I use the similar Goody brush, which I got for only £2 from Bodycare!

So there you have it - my top 10 products every Curly needs!

Let me know what your favourite products are!

Happy Curling,
